Its calm and shallow waters are sheltered from the open sea, making it a paradise for the whole family.
The microorganisms that create the light effect do not represent a danger to humans. In the bay there is a mangrove swamp where birds, crabs and reptiles live.

20. Villa Pesquera Beach, Patillas
Villa Pesquera is a charming beach in Puerto Rico in the Patillas municipality, on the southeastern coast of the main island.
Patillas is called “The Emerald of the South” for its beautiful mountainous areas full of forests.
The beach, in front of the Barrio Bajo de Patillas, has beach sports such as jet skis, kayaks and pedal boats. It is flat and with crystal clear and calm waters, perfect for swimming and snorkeling.
In Villa Pesquera there is a children’s recreational space with swings, sports courts and playgrounds, being one of the great beaches in Puerto Rico for children.

21. Jobos Beach, Isabela
One of the beaches of Puerto Rico most appreciated by surfing fans, annually receiving local and foreign athletes, on the northwestern coast of Puerto Rico, in the town of Isabela.
Despite its shallow depth, it is dangerous due to its strong currents. It is a short distance from the Bajuras neighborhood, Isabela, and is the busiest in town. It has a camping area with nearby kiosks and restaurants.
Next to Playa Jobos is the Pozo de Jacinto, a windy place with steep cliffs, which is a natural viewpoint that offers spectacular views.

22. La Chiva Beach, Vieques
La Chiva is one of the most beautiful beaches in Puerto Rico for, among other attributes, a key located off the coast that forms a coral ecosystem with abundant fish.
Also known as Playa Azul, it is part of the Vieques National Wildlife Refuge. It has an extension of more than 2 km that form a beautiful cove.
The key in front of Playa La Chiva is fantastic for snorkeling and diving. It is a virgin beach without facilities where you can not camp.

23. Cerro Gordo Beach, Vega Alta
Beach on the north coast of Puerto Rico, one of the best on the island to set up a tent, as its camping area is huge. It is in the Vega Alta municipality, 37 km west of San Juan.
The Cerro Gordo spa is one of the most popular on the island. It is administered by the Puerto Rico National Parks Company and has various aquatic entertainment such as kayaking, diving and snorkeling.
Near the sandbank there are kiosks and the Vega State Forest, the first wooded area found when traveling from San Juan to the west.

24. Poza del Obispo, Arecibo
A small beach with crystal clear waters and golden sand behind the old Arecibo lighthouse, 70 km west of San Juan, on the north coast of Puerto Rico.
On its left side there is a fantastic natural pool, while on its right side there is a wide beach with intense waves, a sector used by surfers.
The old Lighthouse of Arecibo is located on the rocky promontory of Punta Morrillos. It was built in stone in 1898, being one of the last built by the Spanish in Puerto Rico.

25. Guajataca Beach, Isabela
Beach in the northwestern sector of the Big Island, near the town and municipality of Isabela.
En la playa se encuentra el Túnel de Guajataca por donde pasaba el tren que conectaba las localidades de Isabela y Quebradillas. Fue construido entre 1904-1906 y prestó servicios ferroviarios hasta 1957, siendo actualmente un monumento histórico y atracción turística.
Playa Guajataca es de fuerte oleaje y aguas turbulentas. Es más bien una playa surfista. En ella desemboca el Río Guajataca, que forma una pequeña alberca natural perfecta para los niños. El río puede ser recorrido en kayak. Hay un sendero para caminar y las vistas son espectaculares.
